Dance like no-one’s watching

I marvel at her,
The way she moves,
The angle of her head
As it tilts inwards and out

The thrust of her hands
And the awkward grace
Suggested by the arc
That is sketched in the air,

Just there.

When she dances
It’s like all the light
Held in the sky turns to her,
A beacon to her moment of joy

To her dancing,
Forever dancing
Like no-one’s watching
But me.

  1. Thank you for your kind words on my blog. You write beautifully yourself and your daughter is blessed to have you. I am sure she will have her own unique and beautiful journey of finding her Deaf identity. 🙂
